Dr. A.W. Siddiqui, a trailblazing figure in promoting sports among persons with disabilities in India. As the founder of Mobility India Foundation, he has been instrumental in empowering individuals with disabilities, particularly paraplegic patients, to participate in various sports events.
During his tenure as Assistant Director (Occupational Therapy) at King George's Medical University, Lucknow, Dr. Siddiqui initiated a groundbreaking program to encourage Indoor paraplegics to engage in wheelchair sports. His tireless efforts led to the formation of a team that excelled in wheelchair racing and track-and-field events, organized by the Delhi-based Handicapped Welfare Federation.
Mobility India Foundation is a voluntary, non-profit organization registered under the societies & firms registration U.P. Government in 1995-96, dedicated to promoting sports among persons with disabilities at state, national, and international levels.
Empowering Persons with Disabilities : Through sports, Dr. Siddiqui has enabled individuals with physical disabilities to develop their skills, confidence, and independence.
Inclusive Sports : Mobility India Foundation promotes various sports, including athletics, wheelchair racing, and cricket, football for blinds & persons with cerebral palsy, providing opportunities for such persons to excel.

Mobility India Foundation :

Mobility India Foundation is a registered & non‑profit voluntary organization under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Uttar Pradesh, vide no.5973/R/OL/2024–25. Since 1995–96, it has been promoting para sports and empowering persons with disabilities and also focusing on blind football, skill development, livelihood training, and inclusive social integration. It provides a platform to showcase abilities & sports talent of persons with visual impairment in the society and sports world.

Activities

Adapted sports, art classes, music therapy, nature outings, cooking sessions, and social skill workshops offer enriching activities for disabled children.
